It involves passing a micro-needling tip over the skin using an auto micro-needling system (Dr pen) . The needles penetrate into the second layer of the skin, where it damages the old collagen and triggers the production of new collagen. The mechanical damage triggered by the needling creates thousands of miniature skin wounds through which vitamin A and C can pass and further assist the collagen induction created by the inflammatory process. The new collagen is formed over 90 days and the results then continue to improve over the next year.
